Cultural Exchange Lyfe-Stile Network has been in existence in the Tampa Bay Area Community since 1999. With almost 20 years of service as a certified educator, Sonia is seeking to positively impact the youth and benefit from the valued relationships and partnerships to empower and unify the community. Cultural Exchange Lyfe-Stile Network has provided programs for G.E.A.R. U.P. (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness of Undergraduate Programs), The University of South Florida, and Florida Mental Health Institute. Additionally, through educational service in afterschool and extra-curricular programs, C.E.L-S.N. has strived to provide equitable, educationally adequate, and culturally relevant education in Hillsborough County for almost two decades. While the focus for C.E.L-S.N., remains to be underrepresented, minority students grades 6-12, there are programs available for ALL students K-12th grade, adults, and other specialized groups.
C.E.L-S.N. is named in memory of Lyfe Lazarus Coleman, Sonia’s first-born child, murdered in the East Tampa community on January 5, 2015, at the age of 18, before graduating from high school.
